STILLWATER, Okla. – With the selection of offensive lineman Grant Garner to Sports Illustrated's 2011 All-America team, Oklahoma State's football program has achieved five All-America honorees for the first time in school history.
The Cowboys' previous record of four was established last season as Kendall Hunter, Justin Blackmon, Dan Bailey and Quinn Sharp all received the distinction.
Garner, who is joined on Sports Illustrated's first team by fellow Cowboys Blackmon and Markelle Martin, was named the Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year and was an essential part of OSU's record-setting offensive.
Sports Illustrated's second team included Adcock and cornerback Brodrick Brown. Sharp, Brandon Weeden, Jamie Blatnick and Shaun Lewis were listed as honorable mentions.
Blackmon, Martin, offensive lineman Levy Adcock, and punter Quinn Sharp have been named to additional All-America teams.
