Oklahoma State vs. Kansas State
Postgame Notes
Nov. 5, 2011
Boone Pickens Stadium
· The Boone Pickens Stadium crowd of 58,895 on Saturday night set the single-game home attendance record, breaking the previous record of 58,516 against Texas in 2009. Five of the nine largest home crowds in school history are from the Cowboys home games in 2011 (No. 1, vs. Kansas State; No. 3, vs. Baylor; No. 4 vs. Kansas; No. 8, vs. Louisiana, and No. 9, vs. Arizona).
· Quarterback Brandon Weeden became the first person in OSU history to throw for more than 500 yards in a game in school history, completing 36 of 46 passes for 502 yards against the Wildcats. The 502-yard effort surpasses the previous single-game record he set earlier in 2011 with 438 yards against Texas A&M. The 502 passing yards against the Wildcats gives him 3,212 yards this season, which ranks as the second best in school history.
· Weeden has now thrown at least one touchdown pass in 22 straight games (all 22 of his career starts), and he has at least two touchdowns passes in 19 of his 22 starts.
· Wide receiver Justin Blackmon tied a career best with 13 receptions against the Wildcats, and his 205 receiving yards is the second most in his career (just two yards shy of the 207 against Texas Tech in 2010). His two touchdown catches give him 32 scoring receptions in his last 21 games.
· Wide receiver Tracy Moore set a career high - in the first half - with 123 receiving yards (surpassing his previous best of 112 yards vs. Louisiana in the 2011 season opener). Moore finished the game with nine catches (also a career best) and 146 yards.
· Running back Joseph Randle's two rushing touchdowns against the Wildcats give him 18 for the season, which moves him ahead of former Cowboy Thurman Thomas (1987) for third most in a single season. He needs four more to bypass Terry Miller (1976) for second place. Barry Sanders tops the list with 37 rushing touchdowns in 1988.
· Randle's three touchdowns (two rushing and one receiving) give him 11 TDs in the Cowboys last three games.
· Linebacker Alex Elkins' 13 total tackles, 12 solo tackles and two tackles for loss are all career bests.
· Linebacker Caleb Lavey and defensive tackle Christian Littlehead both recorded the first sacks of their careers against the Wildcats.
· Freshman running back Herschel Sims made the first start of his college career.
· Oklahoma State's captains for Saturday night's game were Cooper Bassett, Justin Blackmon, Colton Chelf, Quinn Sharp.
