Team Notes
· With the overtime loss, the Cowboys fall to 1-3 all-time in overtime games. OSU beat Missouri State 23-20 in 1996, lost to Texas A&M 28-25 in 1997 and lost to Texas A&M 34-33 in 2006.
· Game captains for Oklahoma State were receiver Justin Blackmon, offensive lineman Lane Taylor, tight end Justin Horton and defensive lineman Nigel Nicholas.
· For the eighth time in the last 11 games, the Oklahoma State defense limited the opposition to one offensive touchdown or less in the first half.
Player Notes
· Brandon Weeden logged his fourth 400-yard passing game of the season and his seventh 400-yard passing game of his career. It was his third consecutive 400-yard passing game.
· Linebacker Shaun Lewis picked off a Jared Barnett pass in the first quarter and returned it 70 yards for a touchdown. It was Oklahoma State's first defensive touchdown of the year and the first since Markelle Martin returned an interception for a score against Arizona in the 2010 Alamo Bowl. Lewis returned an interception for a score last season against Oklahoma.
· Alex Elkins' fourth quarter interception was his first of the season. He becomes the 11th OSU player to record a pick this season.
Streaks
· Oklahoma State quarterback Brandon Weeden extended his streak of consecutive games with a touchdown pass to 24. He has two or more touchdown passes in 21 of his 24 games as the Cowboys' starter.
· Receiver Justin Blackmon recorded a touchdown catch for the 10th consecutive game and for the 22nd time in his last 23 games.
· Josh Cooper extended his streak of consecutive games with a catch to 27.
· Oklahoma State extended its streak of completing a pass of at least 31 yards to 19 straight games.
Records Watch
· Quarterback Brandon Weeden became Oklahoma State's all-time leader in passing yards during the second quarter of Friday's game. The previous career record of 8,317 yards was held by Zac Robinson. With 476 yards Friday, Weeden's new career total is 8,644 yards.
· With three touchdown passes against Iowa State, Brandon Weeden now has 34 touchdown passes on the season, tying his total from last season. He also extended his OSU career-record total to 72.
· With 42 completions against Iowa State Friday, Brandon Weeden added to his OSU career record total, which now stands at 355.
· With 476 yards of total offense Friday, Brandon Weeden increased his season total to 4,016 yards, moving past Zac Robinson's 2007 and 2008 season totals to move from fourth to second place on the OSU single-season list.
· With 99 receiving yards Friday, wide receiver Justin Blackmon brought his season total to 1,241 yards, moving him from seventh to sixth on the OSU single-season list.
· Running back Joseph Randle entered Friday's game with 993 rushing yards this season. He added 49 yards to increase his total to 1,042 and turn in the 20th 1,000-yard season in school history.
· With 13 receptions Friday, Josh Cooper increased his season total to 60, placing him tied for 10th on the OSU single-season list with Hart Lee Dykes in 1986 and Adarius Bowman in 2006.
· With 128 receiving yards Friday, Josh Cooper passed Curtis Mayfield for eighth place on OSU's career list. Cooper now has 1,634 career receiving yards.
