- Oklahoma State's offensive explosion against KU tied numerous single-game school records, including most points in the modern era (70, set against Southern Illinois, 1973), most touchdowns (10, vs. Southern Illinois, 1973), most points in a half (56, vs. Southern Illinois, 1973), and most points in a quarter (35, vs. Southern Illinois, 1973, and vs. Baylor, 2002).- Eight different Oklahoma State players scored touchdowns in the game.
- Oklahoma State's starters were pulled from the game with five minutes remaining in the first half. The Cowboys led, 35-7, after the first quarter and 56-7 at the half.
- Brandon Weeden's line after the first quarter: 16-of-18 passing for 223 yards and four touchdowns. He finished 24-of-28 for 288 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions.
- Brandon Weeden set the record for single-game completion percentage (minimum 20 attempts) by completing 24 of 28 passes for 85.7 percent against the Jayhawks to break Zac Robinson's record of 85.2 percent (23-of-27 passing vs. Baylor in 2009).
- Brandon Weeden (288 yards) and Clint Chelf (206 yards) became the first Oklahoma State duo to pass for at least 200 yards in the same game.
