Brandi Andrews Selected For Student-Athlete Award

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State cross country senior Brandi Andrews has been selected as a Student Athlete in STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) Award winner, Career Communications Group, Inc. announced today.
Andrews will be honored at the Student Leadership Awards Dinner during the 16th-annual Women of Color in Technology and Business Conference, which takes place in Dallas on Nov. 4. She will also be recognized in the WOC (Women of Color) conference magazine, which will be published in Nov. 2011.
Andrews, a native of Chattanooga, Tenn., has been a model student-athlete in her time at OSU, as she has been named first-team academic all-Big 12 four times.
During the 2011 indoor track season, she was a member of the distance medley relay team that placed fifth at the NCAA Championships, earning her All-America honors. The DMR team's time of 11:04.59 stands as the school record.
She also owns the sixth-best mark in OSU history in the indoor 600 yards, running it in 1:25.53 in 2010. She set the seventh-best time in the outdoor 800 meters in 2011, finishing in 2:10.32.
