STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy is on the 20-man watch list for the Bear Bryant Coach of the Year Award and senior cornerback Brodrick Brown is one of 20 quarterfinalists for the Lott IMPACT Trophy Award, it was announced today.
Gundy's inclusion on the Bryant Award watch list continues a pattern of recognition for the seventh-year head coach. He was the 2010 Big 12 Coach of the Year and was a finalist for the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year and the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year awards last season.
Brown leads the Big 12 and ranks sixth nationally with four interceptions. Additionally, he ranks second in the Big 12 and is sixth nationally in passes defended with 11. He is one of the biggest reasons why Oklahoma State leads the nation in turnover margin and passes intercepted and is second in turnovers gained.
The Lott IMPACT Trophy is given to the defensive player that best combines on-field performance and off-the-field character attributes.
