Cowboys In Sixth At Isleworth

WINDERMERE, Fla. - Oklahoma State's men's golf team opened play at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational with a 295 on Sunday to stand in tie for sixth place at Isleworth Country Club.
Competing in their final event of the fall season, the Cowboys' 7-over tally knotted them with Florida, Augusta State and LSU for sixth at the par-72, 7,544-yard layout. Texas fired a 10-under 278 to grab the lead and stand nine shots clear of North Florida at 287. Alabama and Stanford shared third place at 291.
The Longhorns also wrapped up the day with the individual leader after Jordan Spieth fired a 65 for a four-shot lead.
A pair of Cowboys finished in a tie for 11th at even par with both junior Sean Einhaus and sophomore Talor Gooch carding even-par rounds.
Einhaus posted four birdies, including three in a row to close out his front nine in 1-under 35. He added three more birdies on his inward nine before finishing with a 1-over 37 to get to his total.
Gooch's front nine included a birdie and two bogeys for a 1-over 37. He moved to even par with a birdie at the par-5 13th. After moving back to level par with a bogey at the 14th, Gooch posted his fourth birdie of the day at the 18th to get back to get to his 72.
Sophomore Ian Davis posted a 75 to come in tied for 36th place.
Junior Drew Page settled in after a 4-over 40 on his front nine to post a bogey-free back nine for a 76 to stand in a tie for 46th.
Sophomore Kevin Dougherty carded a 78 during his opening round to finish the day tied for 56th place.
The Cowboys will begin their second round tomorrow at 8 a.m. (EST) and will be grouped with LSU and Augusta State.
