Cowboys Finish 10th At Nicklaus Invitational

DUBLIN, Ohio - Oklahoma State's men's golf team closed with a 303 during its third round at the Jack Nicklaus Invitational on Tuesday to finish in 10th place at Muirfield Village Golf Club.
The Cowboys tallied a 54-hole total of 903 to finish three shots behind TCU at the par-72, 7,352-yard layout. Texas used a 1-under 287 to run away from the field en route to claiming the team title. The Longhorns finished at 2-under 862 and 16 shots ahead of tournament host Ohio State.
Illinois product Thomas Pieters closed with a 72 to finish at 209 and earn medalist honors.
OSU junior Sean Einhaus' 76 during his third round tied him for 22nd place at 224 and made him the top finisher among the Cowboys' starting five.
Sophomore Ian Davis posted the squad's low round of the day with a 74 to finish at 225 and tied for 25th place.
Sophomore Kevin Dougherty carded a closing 84 to finish at 234 and tied for 46th place.
A pair of Cowboys tied for 48th place as junior Drew Page finished with a 77 to get his 235 total, while sophomore Brad Gehl closed with a 76 to get to his 19-over score.
The Cowboys will be back in action on Oct. 23 when they travel to Windermere, Fla., to take part in the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational.
