LONG BEACH, Calif. - Oklahoma State junior Krista Lopez has been named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Women's Team of the Week, it was announced today by the online publication.
Lopez, a forward for the Cowgirls, was chosen for the honor based on her play during games the week of Sept. 20-26.
A native of Carrollton, Texas, Lopez helped 12th-ranked OSU jump to the top of the Big 12 Conference standings after the opening weekend of league play. In Sunday's 2-0 win over Texas Tech, Lopez recorded both Cowgirl goals to help the squad run its unbeaten streak to eight games and improve to 9-1-1 on the season.
The two-goal effort was the third multi-goal game of the season for Lopez, who ranks second in the Big 12 with nine goals. Lopez leads the conference with four game-winning goals, and she is also among the league leaders in shots and points.
With nine goals, Lopez is already just one shy of cracking OSU's top 10 for list for goals in a single season.
