COLUMBUS, Ohio - After carding a 67 on Sunday, OSU junior-to-be Morgan Hoffmann finished in the top 10 for the second-straight year at the Nationwide Children's Hospital Invitational at The Ohio State University Scarlet Course.
Hoffmann's 4-under closing round gave him a four-day total of 278, 6-under par, and moved him from a tie for 16th place into a tie for ninth with Tag Ridings. D.J. Brigman won the event with a 274 total after firing a 64 during his final round.
Last year, the Wyckoff, N.J., native finished in a tie for eighth place at 5-under 279 at the Nationwide Tour stop.
After using back-to-back rounds of 70 to get to the weekend, Hoffmann carded an even-par 71 on Saturday before posting his lowest number of the week on Sunday.
With birdies at Nos. 4 and 6, he went out in 2-under 34. After making the turn, Hoffmann birdied the 12th before making his lone bogey of the day at the 15th. However, he rebounded with birdies at Nos. 16 and 17 to finish at 2-under 33 on his inward nine.
Hoffmann and OSU teammate Peter Uihlein each received invitations to participate in the event after earning All-America status during their sophomore campaigns.
Uihlein missed the cut after carding rounds of 75 and 73.
