Oklahoma State's men's golf team earned one of six No. 1 seeds for NCAA regional play it was announced today by the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Committee.
The top-ranked Cowboys will be the No. 1 seed at the 13-team regional in Alpharetta, Ga., which will take place May 20-22 at Capital City Club.
Thirteen teams and 10 individuals who are not members of those teams will compete in three of the regionals. The other three regionals will feature 14 teams and five individuals.
The top five teams from each of the six regionals and the low individual on a non-qualifying team or who is competing individually will advance to the NCAA Championship on June 1-6 at The Honors Course in Chattanooga, Tenn. This will be the second year of the current format.
The Cowboys were the top seed and a regional host at Karsten Creek in Stillwater last year, posting a 22-shot victory on their home course. Junior Kevin Tway has claimed medalist honors in each of his two regional starts, finishing one shot ahead of teammate Peter Uihlein last season.
