Oklahoma State
Oklahoma State is 17-10 and looking to rebound from a pair of midweek losses. OSU fell, 9-6, against Wichita State on Tuesday in a rain-shortened contest in Stillwater. The Cowboys rallied with four runs in the bottom of the seventh, but were unable to continue their attempted comeback with the game being called in the top of the eighth. OSU hit the road yesterday, playing at Missouri State, where the Cowboys suffered a 7-5 loss. OSU's last time out in conference play resulted in its first league-series win of the year as the Cowboys took two of three last weekend from Nebraska.
OSU head coach Frank Anderson is in his seventh season at the helm of the Cowboys and has led the club to 250 wins in his career. The Pokes are coming off a season in which they finished 34-24 and advanced to the finals of the NCAA Clemson Regional. With that showing, OSU became the only Big 12 Conference team to advance to a Regional championship round each of the last four seasons.
OSU leads the Big 12 with a .342 team batting average, with eight of the Cowboy regulars in the starting lineup hitting .300 or better, and the pitching staff sports a collective 5.09 ERA.
About Texas Tech
Texas Tech is 15-17 overall and coming off a two-game split against UNLV. The Cowboys are 28-21 all time against the Red Raiders and won two of the three meetings in Lubbock last year. The Red Raiders are hitting .306 as a team, and their pitching staff sports a combined 6.62 ERA.
Up Next For The Cowboys
Following the weekend series, OSU will host Bedlam-rival Oklahoma in a non-conference game Tuesday at Reynolds Stadium before returning to conference play April 16-18 at Missouri.
