BRYAN, Texas - Oklahoma State's men's golf team wrapped up play on Sunday at the Aggie Invitational with a 351 team score to finish in second place at Traditions Golf Club.
In a six-count-five format that allows teams to utilize one more player than the standard format, the Cowboys 9-under-par third round gave them a 17-under total of 1,063 for the event. Tournament host Texas A&M cruised to a 21-shot victory on its home course, finishing at 38-under 1,042. Texas Tech was third at 1,067.
A&M's Jordan Russell fired a 67 during his final round to finish at 207 and one shot ahead of teammate Geoff Shaw for medalist honors. The Aggies produced the top four players in the individual standings with Ignacio Elvira and Conrad Shindler tying for third place.
A pair of OSU sophomores tied for eighth place as Peter Uihlein and Morgan Hoffmann each finished at 212 for the event after posting rounds of 65 and 71, respectively.
Uihlein carded the low round of the day in the 78-player field, finishing with seven birdies and an eagle to match his best score of the year.
The finish was the first top 10 of the spring for Hoffmann, who last cracked the top 10 in November at the Gifford Collegiate.
Junior Kevin Tway came in one shot behind his teammates at 213 after closing with a 75 to finish alone in 14th.
Junior Mark Johnson closed with a 70 to finish at 216 and tied for 23rd, giving him his best finish in six starts this season.
Redshirt freshman Sean Einhaus posted a 72 and tied for 25th at 217, while senior Trent Whitekiller's 73 got him in at 220 and tied for 36th.
The Cowboys will be back in action on April 23 when they head to Whispering Pines Golf Club in Trinity, Texas for the Big 12 Championship.
