Cowboys Alone In First At Linger Longer

GREENSBORO, Ga. - Oklahoma State's men's golf team moved into sole possession of first place on Saturday at the Linger Longer Invitational after carding a 286 during its second round at Reynolds Landing.
The Cowboys entered the day tied with Furman, but moved ahead of the pack after posting a 2-under score during round two at the par-72, 7,005-yard layout. OSU's 36-hole total of 579 is five shots better than Alabama and 11 ahead of Texas A&M.
The Crimson Tide's Bud Cauley maintained the top spot individually after carding a 73. He stands at 7-under 137.
OSU's Sean Einhaus posted his second consecutive 70 and is alone in second place at 140. The redshirt freshman made the turn at 1-uner 35 before making bogeys on two of his first three holes on the inward nine. Einhaus responded with birdies on three of his final five holes to move back under par for the day.
Junior Kevin Tway moved into contention as well, carding a 70 of his own. Tway will begin his final round tied for third place at 143.
Senior Trent Whitekiller also finished the day in the top 10 after his 74 moved him into the group tied for eighth at 146.
Sophomore Peter Uihlein jumped 28 spots in the standings and into a tie for 20th after an even-par 72 gave him a 150 total.
Sophomore Morgan Hoffmann also made a big move, rising 20 spots into a tie for 46th after signing for a 74 and a 154 total.
Sophomore Michael Miller paced a group of four individuals competing individually for OSU. Miller posted a 79 to stand at 156 and tied for 52nd place.
Junior Mark Johnson's 77 put him in the group tied for 59th at 157, while redshirt freshman Drew Page's 76 gave him a 160 total and tied him for 78th place.
Sophomore Bernhard Neumann's 81 gave him a 161 total and tied him for 80th place.
The Cowboys will begin their final round tomorrow at 9:20 a.m. (EST) and will be grouped with Texas A&M and Alabama.
