STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State picked up its second consecutive shutout win with a 4-0 triumph over Alabama A&M Wednesday at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.
With the win, OSU improved to 14-3 and claimed a series win over the Bulldogs with its second victory in three games. AAMU fell to 11-11 on the season.
The Cowboys scored all of their runs in the fourth inning. Nico Rosthenhausler drew a leadoff walk to get things started and after stealing second, he scored on a double by Dane Phillips.
Following a single by Luis Uribe, Phillips scored on a wild pitch to make the score 2-0. A two-RBI double by Davis Duren plated OSU's final two runs.
Duren led the Cowboys with a 2-for-4, two-RBI day that also included his Big 12 Conference leading 16th stolen base of the season.
Mike Strong earned the win on the mound to improve to 3-0. The junior southpaw allowed just three hits in seven innings and racked up 10 strikeouts.
Matt Peck came out of the bullpen with two runners on and one out in the ninth and retired both hitters he faced for his first save of the season.
OSU opens Big 12 Conference play Friday at Kansas State. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
