Four Cowboys Named To Hogan Award Watch List

NORMAN, Okla. - Four members of the Oklahoma State men's golf team were named to the watch list for the 2010 Ben Hogan Award it was announced today by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Senior Trent Whitekiller, junior Kevin Tway and sophomores Morgan Hoffmann and Peter Uihlein were all named to the list for the award. The Hogan is presented annually to the top men's NCAA Division I, II or III, NAIA or NJCAA college golfer taking into account all collegiate and amateur competitions during a 12-month period.
The quartet helped OSU to two victories in four starts during the fall as well as the top spot in the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index. The Cowboys earned team titles at the Ping/Golfweek Invitational and the Isleworth Collegiate. Whitekiller tied for first at the squad's season opener at the Fighting Illini Invitational, while Uilhein won the Ping/Golfweek Invitational and the Gifford Collegiate.
All four players are currently ranked in the top 20 in the Index's individual rankings with Uihlein (No. 7) and Hoffmann (No. 9) holding spots in the top 10. Whitekiller is No. 13, while Tway is No. 18.
The Hogan Award semifinalists will be announced April 14. The three finalists named on May 11 will be invited to Colonial Country Club in Fourth Worth, Texas, for the Hogan Award presentation on the evening of May 24.
