SAN ANTONIO - The Oklahoma State football team arrived in San Antonio Thursday to begin preparation for its matchup with Arizona in the 2010 Valero Alamo Bowl.
The Cowboys touched down in San Antonio at approximately 11 a.m. and had some time to settle in to their rooms before meeting as a team and then heading to their practice site and taking the field for a light practice following by a period of running.
Head coach Mike Gundy said all of OSU's players were accounted for and announced that punter Quinn Sharp and long snapper Marc Yerry were not with the team and would not play in the game because they did not fulfill team requirements.
Gundy was asked what his plan was with Sharp and Yerry out for the game.
"Dan Bailey will do our kicking and either Dan or Michael Reichenstein will do our punting and we worked on that a little bit today," Gundy said. "Andrew Suter has done the snapping all year, so we should be in the flow there."
Gundy also addressed a death in the OSU football family.
"We got here today and coach Gunter Brewer's mom passed away, so he took off," Gundy said. "We got here and as he was getting settled, he got a phone call, so he and his family are going to Mississippi to be with their family. Other than that, we're on our normal routine. We had a good practice and we've got the fellas back so everything is as it should be."
The Cowboys hold their second practice early tomorrow afternoon, then the Pokes will visit Sea World as a team after their work is done.
