STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's Krista Lopez picked up a pair of accolades for her performance in leading the Cowgirls to a Sweet 16 win over Duke in the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship last week.
A junior forward, Lopez was named a CollegeSoccer360.com Primetime Performer of the Week for Week #14 and also earned a spot on the TopDrawerSoccer.com Women's Team of the Week. This marks the second time this season Lopez has appeared on the teams of the week for each of these respective outlets.
Lopez played a part in both OSU goals in the sixth-ranked Cowgirls 2-0 win over the Blue Devils. She notched an assist on the first before finding the back of the net herself with a goal in the 62nd minute.
The goal was the 15th of the season for Lopez, tying her for the second-most single-season goals in school history and leaving her just one short of the record. The score also moved her into the top 10 on OSU's career goals list as she is now tied for ninth all time with 19 goals.
Additionally, Lopez has now racked up 35 points on the season (15 goals, 5 assists), which ranks as the third-highest total in a single season in program history and is just two points shy of the high mark.
Lopez and the Cowgirls return to action Friday when they host Notre Dame in an Elite Eight contest with a berth in the 2010 NCAA Women's College Cup on the line.
