STILLWATER, Okla. - For the second time in less than a month, the Oklahoma State football program is featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated. This week's cover of the magazine has Cowboy receiver Dez Bryant diving across the goal line as he makes the second of his two touchdown catches in OSU's 24-10 win over Georgia and reads, "Cowboy Up: Oklahoma State Struts as the Rival Sooners Swoon."
"It's great that our team is getting this kind of recognition. It really is an honor for us to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated twice this season, but we can't get wrapped up in it," Bryant said. "We have a tough game coming up this week against Houston and that's our focus."
Bryant's OSU teammates Zac Robinson and Andrew Lewis were featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated's August 17 college football preview. Prior to that, Oklahoma State had never been featured on the cover.
"We're appreciative of the recognition that another Sports Illustrated cover brings to our program," Coach Mike Gundy said. "It is a great team honor. We've worked very hard to get to this point, but we have a lot of work still in front of us."
