OSU Head Coach Mike Gundy
On picking up another win
"That's a good win for us tonight. We were able to use some players that don't have a lot of experience that stepped up and made some plays. I thought the defense played exceptionally well. I was disappointed in the turnover on offense when we put the ball on the ground. Those are errors that we need to eliminate in order to continue to push forward throughout the season. We'll continue to work hard on that. It's good to get a win and it's nice to have an open week to move forward."
On freshman RB Jeremy Smith
"We felt like we needed another back for the rest of the season. We practiced him and used him in special teams and decided to play him. I thought he played pretty good. We just felt from this point on going through league play we're going to need another back. We thought as coaches that he is mature and he seems to be pretty physical. He has good shake and we like the way he approaches practice."
On getting a week off before Big 12 play
"We need a bye week. We've got to get some guys healthy. We're looking forward to the open week and letting the team rest. We still have to practice. We've still got a number of young players or first-year players that need the work."
On Brandon Weeden's performance
"I thought he played OK. I think there were some times he got confused a little bit. Overall, I thought he handled himself pretty well."
On the receivers playing without Dez Bryant
"I thought the guys that hadn't had a chance to play much stepped up and made some plays. We're looking for younger players and guys that don't have that much experience to step up and make some plays for us."
On the performances of the first-year players
"With Jeremy Smith it's his first time, but Tracy Moore has gotten a little better each week. He made a few mistakes but he showed tonight that he's physical enough to play at this level. He's understanding and getting a better feel for the offense. Because of that, we can allow those guys to play a little more."
On the defense
"We need to tackle better in space. I think their quarterback moved around pretty well. I thought our defense handled themselves well and overall, I thought we put more pressure on the quarterback than we had in the past."
Wide Receiver Josh Cooper
On play of receivers
"All the receivers played well and executed the offense well. Everyone showed up today. Every receiver on our team can make plays. They just have not had the chance to show it yet. They definitely came out and showed it today."
On the game
"The last few weeks we have not started well on offense. Tonight, we came out and executed well."
Defensive Coordinator Bill Young
On the play of the defense
"We have our ups and downs. We are not where we want to be, and we have a lot of work in front of us. We are not done yet."
On defending Texas A&M
"We are ready for this bye week. We have a lot of players that are banged up. We are anxious to get into the league and start playing to find out where we are as a football team."
Linebacker Patrick Lavine
On the game
"I think we played pretty well. We have made some strides and improved in a lot of areas that we needed to work on in the past. We played the game that we needed to play."
During the off week
"We can get better. We are still making some mistakes, and we can still work on some things. A lot of guys are banged up in a lot of key positions. This week, we can work on getting better as well as healing."
On injuries
"Dez Bryant is out. Perrish Cox is out. You want to see those guys on the field. This is just one week (bye week) that we gain. I consider it as a win almost."
On Texas A&M
"They always give us a good game since I've been here. We are excited for that. They have a lot of good players. They have improved since last year, but we get two weeks to prepare for them, so that is a good thing."
Linebacker Andre Sexton
On the Grambling State offense
"They have a very talented, mobile quarterback and some good guys on that offense. We made some plays. That is something we need to improve on a lot, especially during conference play. There are so many mobile quarterbacks in the Big 12. That was very good for us today."
On what Coach Bill Young wants out of his defense
"He has done a great job of slowly bringing us on, but, at the same time, keeping a lot of the same stuff we did last year. It is easy for everyone to adjust. When he does implement some of his stuff, it is easy for us to catch on. I think that is why everyone has been able to play fast instead of thinking more on the field."
Running back Keith Toston
On fellow running back Jeremy Smith
"He is a good running back. We knew that since the first day we saw him running in two-a-days. That is Oklahoma State's future. Other than him, we actually have some other great backs that did not get a chance to run as much as we wished. He is a great back."
On offense this week
"After each game, we know that we made a few mistakes here and there. Today, the little mistakes were taken away. That is why you saw a lot more big plays."
On playing at Texas A&M
"It is always good to go into conference play with a little confidence. As far as our offense, I think we picked it up a little this week. That's a big notch for us. We are going to go into A&M and be ready. It is going to be a good game."
Quarterback Zac Robinson
On the first four games of the season
"I feel like we are getting better as an offense. Our offensive line is starting to come together, and you saw that tonight. They were opening up a lot of holes as well as protecting the quarterbacks. The offensive line is where it starts, and they are coming together as a group. We had some young receivers step up and Jeremy Smith as well. The bye week is coming at a good time, and we will get some guys healthy and be ready to go for A&M."
On the bye week
"There is no doubt that this is the perfect time for the bye week. We have had some unfortunate injuries, but guys have stepped up and made some plays. We will get Dez and Kendall back and some of those guys on defense. We will get them healthy this week and be ready to roll."
