COLUMBUS, Ohio - Three Oklahoma State golfers found their way into the top 10 on Sunday during the final round of the Nationwide Tour's Children's Hospital Invitational at The Ohio State University Scarlet Course.
Leading the way was Rickie Fowler, who gained entry into the event after earning first-team All-America honors as a sophomore last season. The Murrieta, Calif., native fired a 3-under 68 to move from third into a tie for first with Derek Lamely at 11-under 273.
Fowler came to the 72nd hole with a one-shot lead before a bogey dropped him into a share of the lead with Lamely and forced a playoff. Lamely, who posted a final-round 65 to move up from a tie for 10th, made par on the second playoff hole to win.
Sophomore-to-be Morgan Hoffmann also took advantage of his invite as well, tying former Cowboy Chris Tidland and Justin Hicks for eighth place at 5-under 279.
Hoffmann posted his second-straight 70 to move up from a tie for 12th, while Tidland carded a 73 during his final round to move from fourth to eighth.
With his finish, Tidland moved up one spot on the Nationwide Money List. He moved from 10th to ninth, helping his attempt to finish among the list's top 25 and regain his PGA Tour card.
