STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State quarterback Zac Robinson is one of 38 quarterbacks in the nation on the preseason watch list for the Manning Award, it was announced today. He was one of 10 finalists for the same award in 2008.
The winner will be announced after the bowls in January and will be honored at a February banquet in New Orleans.
The Manning Award was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in honor of the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning. It is the only quarterback award that takes into consideration the candidates' bowl performances.
Robinson is a staple on awards watch lists this preseason, as he has earned a spot on the preseason lists for the Manning Award, the Davey O'Brien Award and the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, all of which are presented to the nation's top quarterback and the Maxwell Award, which is presented to the nation's top player.
