COLUMBUS, Ohio - Oklahoma State's Rickie Fowler and Morgan Hoffmann will be in action this week at the Nationwide Tour's Children's Hospital Invitational at The Ohio State University Golf Club's Scarlet Course.
Both players were extended invitations after earning first-team All-America honors last season.
As a sophomore, Fowler competed in 12 events, finishing in the top five on six occasions and winning once. The Murrieta, Calif., native earned his third career victory at the Aggie Invitational and capped his year with a third-place showing at the NCAA Championship.
A two-time first-team selection, Fowler competed in last year's event as well, tying for 40th place with a 3-over 287 total.
Hoffmann won three times during his rookie campaign, tying the school's record for victories by a freshman. The Wyckoff, N.J., native won three times, including the Big 12 Championship, and was named the Big 12 Player and Newcomer of the Year.
In its third year, the tournament will be played July 30-August 2 and features the third-largest purse on Tour at $775,000.
Both players will begin play in Thursday's afternoon wave with Fowler teeing off at 1:50 p.m. (EST) on the No. 1 tee, while Hoffmann will begin at 1:50 p.m. on the No. 10 tee.
Also in the field will be former Cowboy All-Americans Tyler Leon, Bob May, Chris Tidland and Willie Wood. Tidland currently ranks 10th on the Nationwide Tour's money list after a ninth-place finish at last week's Cox Classic in Omaha, Neb.
