STILLWATER, Okla. - Head coach Mike Gundy and representatives of the Oklahoma State football team appeared at Big 12 Football Media Day in Dallas on Monday. Gundy was joined by cornerbacks coach Jason Jones, offensive lineman Russell Okung, quarterback Zac Robinson and linebacker Andre Sexton.
The players and coaches hopped into a private plane leaving Stillwater at 10:45 in the morning and flew directly into Dallas-Fort Worth Airport, where a custom shuttle was present to transform the Cowboys to the Westin DFW North. Once at the hotel, the OSU delegation ate lunch before starting their media day rotation by visiting with national television outlets such as ESPN, ESPNU, FSN, the Versus network and CBS.
From there, Gundy took the podium in the print reporters room, with the players going next door to conduct more personalized one-on-one sessions with members of the local, regional and national print media.
Next, the Cowboys visited with local television stations from around the region before ending their rotation by conducting interviews with live radio stations. The Pokes then hopped back into their custom shuttle at the hotel and boarded their private plane for Stillwater, arriving home at approximately 5:30 p.m.
Popular questions for OSU included how the Cowboys are dealing with the pressure of carrying a top-10 ranking going into the season, the importance of the season-opener against Georgia, how the OSU defense is adjusting to new coordinator Bill Young and if the Cowboys feel 2009 is the year they overtake Texas and Oklahoma in the Big 12 South.
The Cowboy players report to campus on Aug. 4 with the first practice slated for Aug. 5.
