Mike McGraw Named Dave Williams Award Recipient

DENVER - Oklahoma State's Mike McGraw was named the recipient of the Dave Williams Award given to the Division I national coach of the year it was announced today by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
This past season, McGraw directed the Cowboys to five tournament titles and produced two first-team All-Americans in Rickie Fowler and Morgan Hoffmann. Hoffmann was also named the winner of the Phil Mickelson Award as the nation's top freshman, while Fowler was a finalist for the Ben Hogan Award honoring the nation's top player.
A third consecutive Big 12 title and a 22-stroke win at the NCAA South Central Regional were among OSU's victories. The Cowboys have now won 16 events and produced 18 individual medalists in four seasons under McGraw.
With Hoffmann's selection as the Big 12 Player and Newcomer of the Year, McGraw has coached the conference's player of the year in each of his four seasons and the top newcomer on three occasions.
The 2009 Eaton/Golf Pride Central Region Coach of the Year, McGraw was named the Big 12 Coach of the Year for the third consecutive season as well.
The distinction marks the second time McGraw has won national coach of the year honors. He previously won the award in 2006 after guiding the Cowboys to their 10th national championship.
