NORMAN, Okla. - The Oklahoma State women's track and field team completed its final day of competition before the Big 12 Championships, as four athletes hit personal records at the Sooner Twilight Saturday, held at Oklahoma's John Jacobs Track and Field Complex.
Several Cowgirls performed well at the meet, including Courtney and Camille Schultz, who finished the 1,500 meters in 4:39.01 and 4:54.77, respectively. Both times were personal bests by more than 10 seconds.
Kendra Woodson and Clarissa Andrews also managed personal records, with Woodson finishing the 400-meter hurdles in 1:01.89 and Andrews leaping 5.83 meters in the long jump. Woodson's time was only about one second shy of the NCAA regional qualifying mark.
"Kendra ran really well today," coach Rene Sepulveda said. "She was finally able to make it in under 62 seconds and that should move her into the top eight in the conference. She should have a good chance to score at the Big 12 Championships next week."
Another notable finish came from Kristen Gillespie and Brandi Andrews, as they took the top two spots in the 800 meters.
The Cowgirls return to action on May 15, as they begin competition at the 2009 Big 12 Outdoor Championships in Lubbock, Texas.
