Cowgirl Soccer Diary No. 5
May 20, 2009 | Cowgirl Soccer
Greetings from Scotland!
Today was a bit more relaxing then our usual schedule. We woke up around nine, ate breakfast, and loaded the bus. We headed to Troon to stretch our legs and get a few shots on goal.
After practice, we headed down by the shore line and took some team pictures and then walked around the town of Troon and ate lunch. Then we came back to the hotel and relaxed, took, a short nap and then headed to our usual spot to eat a pre-game meal. After we ate, we went back to the hotel, and a few of us girls stayed in the lobby and played some cards to keep us entertained before we had to take the hour and a half drive to Murray Park (The Rangers Training Park).
We were privileged to take a short tour around Murray Park. After the tour, we headed to the field to do our warm up. The game started out kind of slow for us; the team came out motivated and the game was very physical. They went up 1-0 on us in the beginning, but Annika Niemeier got a goal off a long throw in by Amanda Robinson that ended the half.
In the second half, we came out ready to play and dominated. We had a lot more chances but only put away one of our chances. An assist from Kasey Langdon to Katie Richardson put us ahead. We headed back to the hotel to get a good night's sleep and pack up for Edinburgh for a full, eventful day.
