Cowgirl Track and Field Ready for John Jacobs Invitational

STILLWATER, Okla. – The Oklahoma State women's track and field team travels to Norman, Okla., on Saturday to compete in the John Jacobs Invitational at the University of Oklahoma's John Jacobs Track and Field Complex.
A large group of Cowgirls will compete at the meet, as Oklahoma State will have athletes in 16 different events, nine of which will be running events.
Kristen Gillespie, Jill Hibbets, Kendra Woodson and Sadie Newsome will compete in the 400-meter dash for the first time this season. Woodson will also compete in the 400-meter hurdles, where she ran a personal-best 1:02.44 last weekend at the Texas Relays.
Tone Hjalmarsen will compete in the 3,000-meter steeplechase for the first time this season.
The discus throwers highlight the field competitors, as regional qualifier Merritt Dietz and Courtney Gougler, who both threw season-bests at the Texas Relays, compete for the Cowgirls.
The triple and long jumps should also be successful for Oklahoma State standouts Clarissa Andrews and Baiba Blumbaha, who is already an NCAA regional qualifier in the triple jump.
The meet is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. with the javelin throw and end with the 4x400-meter relay at 5 p.m.
