Cowboy Golf Finishes 10th At U.S. Collegiate

ALPHARETTA, Ga.ÂOklahoma State's men's golf team carded a 301 during its final round at the U.S. Collegiate on Tuesday to finish in 10th place at The Golf Club of Georgia.
The Cowboys finished with a three-day total of 895, 31-over, and seven shots behind Southern California for ninth place. Clemson outdistanced Stanford for the team title. The Tigers used a 4-under 284 during their final round to get in with an 876 total and finish two shots clear of the Cardinal.
Alabama's Bud Cauley and UCLA's Erik Flores entered the final round tied for the top spot on the individual leaderboard and remained that way following the third round. The duo posted matching 73s to finish at 4-under 212 and shared medalist honors.
OSU sophomore Rickie Fowler was the lone Cowboy to crack the top 20, tying for 19th place. The Murrieta, Calif., native posted a 74 on Tuesday to finish at 222. Fowler started the day tied for 26th place before carding his 2-over score, giving him his third consecutive top-20 performance.
Sophomore Kevin Tway's 75 gave him a 224 total and tied him for 28th place, while freshman Morgan Hoffmann posted a 78 to finish tied for 32nd place at 225.
Senior Trent Leon, the event's defending champion, tied for 44th place at 228 after carding a 74 during his final round.
Junior Trent Whitekiller carded a 78 and finished tied for 55th place at 230.
The Cowboys will resume action on April 18 when they travel to College Station, Texas to take part in the Aggie Invitational.
