April 07, 2009 | Cowgirl Soccer
STILLWATER, Okla. Â Oklahoma State returned to spring exhibition action Saturday and emerged with a win and a tie in a pair of matches at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex.
The Cowgirls are now 3-2-3 during the spring season, with their final exhibition match scheduled for Friday against Texas A&M in College Station, Texas.
In Saturday's first match, the Cowgirls took on UCO and were dominant in a 4-0 win.
Junior Kasey Langdon netted the first goal for OSU when she caught UCO off guard on a free kick.
In the second half, sophomore Katie Richardson added to the score, while freshmen Sarah Brown and Becky Garrett netted the Cowgirls' final two goals.
The Cowgirls also faced Missouri State Saturday, and after a hard-fought battle, they came away with a 0-0 tie.
OSU had trouble getting their offense started with only three shots on goal during the first half. The Cowgirls improved their attack in the second half but still couldn't find the back of the net. The Cowgirls outshot Missouri State, 15-1, in the match.
OSU freshman Keely Kippenberger was in goal both games to record the two shutouts.
