Cowboy Duo Named To U.S. Palmer Cup Squad

NORMAN, Okla.—Two members of Oklahoma State's men's golf team have been named to the United States Palmer Cup Squad. Freshman Morgan Hoffmann and senior Trent Leon will both compete in the annual Ryder Cup-style competition June 3-5 at Cherry Hills Country Club in Denver.
Joining the Cowboy duo on the American team will be Bud Cauley of Alabama, Jamie Lovemark of Southern California, Georgia's Adam Mitchell, Cameron Tringale of Georgia Tech, Marquette's Mike Van Sickle and Steve Ziegler of Stanford.
Hoffmann has won twice during his freshman campaign and has a pair of runner-up finishes to his credit as well. The Saddle Brook, N.J., native is currently ranked No. 3 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index.
Leon has finished in the top 10 in five of his eight starts this season, including a third-place showing at the Ping/Golfweek Preview. A native of Dallas, Texas, Leon is currently ranked 13th nationally.
The United States leads the all-time Palmer Cup series 6-5-1.
