Cowboys Roll To 15-0 Win Over Tabor College
April 02, 2009 | Cowboy Baseball
STILLWATER, Okla. Â Oklahoma State tied a season high with five home runs and cruised to a 15-0 win over Tabor College Wednesday night at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.
Randy McCurry hit a pair of home runs and collected five RBIs, and OSU used eight pitchers as the 15th-ranked Cowboys improved to 20-8 on the season.
After being held scoreless over the first two innings, the Cowboys notched their first rally in the third. McCurry got the scoring starting with a solo home run to left-center field, the first homer of his collegiate career. Three batters later, Micheal Dabbs brought home OSU's second run with a triple before a Neil Medchill single made the score 3-0.
OSU doubled its lead in the fourth, once again compliments of a blast off the bat of McCurry. This time the freshman delivered a mammoth three-run shot over the wall in left field to give the Cowboys a 6-0 advantage.
The Cowboys put the game away with a seven-run rally in the fifth as they batted around and collected seven hits.
Four different Cowboys collected RBI hits in the fifth frame before Dabbs provided the big blow with a three-run homer to right. The blast was Dabbs' sixth home run of the season.
With a comfortable cushion, the Cowboys rotated pitchers to the mound throughout the contest. Thomas Keeling started the game and worked two innings, striking out four and earning the win to improve to 3-1 on the season.
Following Keeling, seven different hurlers worked one inning scoreless apiece and combined to allow just four hits.
OSU returns to action Friday when they open a Big 12 Conference series against No. 9 Texas at Reynolds Stadium. Friday's opener is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. start.
