Cowgirls Complete Busy Weekend

The Oklahoma State women's track and field team finished a full weekend Saturday, competing in the Long Beach Invitational and the final day of the Kansas Relays. The Cowgirls also finished competition at the Mt. SAC Relays late Friday night, where a pair of Cowgirls ran well in the 5,000 meters.
Tone Hjalmarsen ran in the Olympic Development division of the race, where she finished in 16:47.59, reaching a season-best and NCAA regional qualifying mark.
Victoria Fratczak was also impressive, finishing with a personal-best time of 17:09.52 in the Open division.
The Long Beach Invitational was one of the Cowgirls' Saturday meets, where three athletes reached season-best marks. Teran Mixon and Heather Estetter set season bests in the 1,500 meters with times of 4:38.64 and 4:40.20, respectively, while Kristen Gillespie reached her season best in the 800 meters with a time of 2:11.76.
In the Kansas Relays, Merritt Dietz threw the discus 50.38 meters to claim first place in the event, while Baiba Blumbaha leapt to a season-best 5.89 meters in the long jump.
Oklahoma State returns to action next weekend for the Sooner Invitational in Norman, Okla.
