Cowgirls Rally in Final Inning to Defeat Shockers 4-2
Heinlein hits three-run home run to win the game
Neither team scored until the bottom of the fifth when Shockers (7-9) catcher Heather Gerritse singled through the right side and scored runners who were on second and third.
The Cowgirls (12-4) rallied back in the top of the seventh as Bright got her third hit of the day and was followed with a hit by Alysia Hamilton. Megan Castle then reached on a fielders choice and the pinch runner Sammy Jo Diffendaffer was out at second and Bright ended up at third. Julie Ward then reached first on a fielding error by
Sophomore Odom (6-1) started in the circle for the Cowgirls and threw six innings giving up no earned runs of six hits while striking out six. Junior Anna Whiddon relieved Odom in the seventh and retired the final three batters to get her first save of the season.
The Cowgirls will be back in action this weekend as they host the Mizuno Classic in
