Cowboys Surge To Lead At Morris Williams Intercollegiate

AUSTIN, Texas ÂOklahoma State's men's golf team will be looking for its first team title of the spring after grabbing the 36-hole lead at the Morris Williams Intercollegiate on Monday.
The second-ranked Cowboys posted a two-round total of 569, 1-over par, on Monday at the University of Texas Golf Club to hold a 15-shot advantage over Southern California with one round remaining.
OSU opened with a 1-over 285 at the par-71, 7,412-yard layout to grab a six-shot advantage over the Trojans through the morning round. The Cowboys opened up their margin in Round Two with a 284 and finished the day with all five players in the top 10 individually.
USC's Tom Glissmeyer manned the top spot on the individual leaderboard after posting a 3-under 139 total.
Two strokes behind Glissmeyer was OSU sophomore Kevin Tway, who holds sole possession of second place after posting rounds of 71 and 70 for a 141 total.
Freshman Morgan Hoffmann opened with a 72 before carding a 70 during his second round to move into a tie for third place at 142.
A trio of Cowboys all finished the day tied for ninth place at 146.
Sophomore Rickie Fowler opened with a 76 before bouncing back with a 70, while junior Trent Whitekiller posted the squad's low round in the morning with a 70 before closing with a 76. Senior Trent Leon recorded rounds of 72 and 74.
The Cowboys will be paired with Arkansas and Southern California during tomorrow's final round and will tee off at 9:28 a.m. (CST).
