Cowgirl Tennis Drops Match to Kansas

TULSA, Okla. – The Oklahoma State women's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision to Kansas on Sunday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa.
The Jayhawks captured the doubles point to start the match and OSU (8-9, 2-4 Big 12) dropped a match at No. 5 singles because of injury.
Kansas (8-8, 3-3) picked up a crucial win at No. 3 doubles to clinch the doubles point with Yuliana Svistun and Kunigunda Dorn's 9-8 (3) win over Belova and Maryna Tkachenko.
Edina Horvath and Ekaterina Morozova picked up KU's other win a doubles, an 8-6 decision over OSU's JoAnne Karaitiana and Nataliya Shatkovskaya at the No. 1 doubles slot.
Freshmen Iryna Khatsko and Alisa Buslaieva won OSU's lone doubles match with an 8-4 win over Maria Martinez and Erin Wilbert.
KU caught a break at No. 5 singles when Belova had to retire because of injury after the first set to put the Jayhawks up 2-0. The Jayhawks picked up their remaining needed points with straight set wins at No. 2 and No. 6 singles.
The Cowgirls won three singles matches with wins at No. 1, No. 3 and No. 4. Khatsko continued her streak of hot play with a 1-6, 6-4, 6-0 win over Dorn at No. 4 singles.
Karaitiana scored a 6-0. 3-6, 6-3 win against Horvath at No. 1 singles and Tkachenko won 6-1, 6-3 at the No. 1 slot.
Oklahoma State will be back in action when it travels to Nebraska on April 3.
