Cowgirl Basketball Falls In Overtime Against Arkansas, 61-60

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.--Oklahoma State's women's basketball team saw its season come to an end on Monday night in the second round of WNIT action with a 61-60 loss to Arkansas inside Bud Walton Arena.
The Cowgirls end the year at 17-16, while the Razorbacks improved to 18-13.
Arkansas led by as many as eight points and for much of the first half, but the Cowgirls used a 10-3 run to get back in the contest.
OSU utilized a big half offensively from Tegan Cunningham. The junior hit five of six shots from the floor, including a layup with seven seconds left to send OSU into the half with a 26-25 lead.
Cunningham finished with 18 points on an 8-of-11 shooting night.
Andrea Riley chipped in with eight points in the stanza despite being saddled with early foul trouble. The Big 12's leading scorer finished with 21 points, moving her into fifth place on the Big 12's single-season scoring chart with 735 points.
The Cowgirls opened their biggest lead of the game at 41-35 behind five-straight points from Cunningham with 9:29 remaining. However, the Razorbacks answered with an 11-3 run to regain the lead.
OSU jumped back in front with four consecutive points from senior Shaunte' Smith before Arkansas would knot the score on its next possession.
In the final four minutes the score was tied or saw the lead changed hands several times. With the score tied at 53 apiece, the Cowgirls secured a defensive rebound with 27 seconds left and held for the game's final shot, but could not convert and sent the game to overtime.
The Razorbacks scored the first five points in the extra session before Riley scored the game's next five to tie the score at 58-58. Arkansas made one of two free throws with 16 seconds left to grab a one-point lead held the Cowgirls without a good look as time expired.
Smith finished with her fourth consecutive double-double, tallying 10 points and 11 rebounds.
