Cowboys Move Up One Spot At Puerto Rico Classic

RIO MAR, Puerto Rico ÂOklahoma State's men's golf team climbed one spot into fourth place at the Puerto Rico Classic on Saturday after posting a round of 282 at Rio Mar Country Club's River Course.
The Cowboys' 6-under score gave them a 36-hole total of 568, 8-under par, heading into tomorrow's final round. OSU will begin the day one shot behind North Carolina State and eight strokes off the pace of Clemson. Georgia blistered the par-72, 6,902-yard layout with a 270 to finish the day with a 553 total and a seven-shot advantage over the field.
Texas' Dylan Fritelli followed an opening round of 67 with a 64 to stake himself to a 13-under, 131 total and a six-shot lead in the individual race.
OSU sophomore Rickie Fowler posted a 68 on Saturday to move up 12 spots and into a tie for 10th place at 4-under 140.
Senior Trent Leon finished under par for the second consecutive day, firing a 2-under 70 to maintain his position in the No. 13 spot on the leaderboard with a 141 score.
Cowboy sophomore Kevin Tway dipped into a tie for 18th place at 143 after carding a 73, while freshman Morgan Hoffmann also finished under par with a 71 to move into a tie for 22nd place at even-par 144.
Sophomore Mark Johnson fired his second consecutive 73 and will begin his final round tied for 31st pace at 146.
The Cowboys will begin their final round at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow.
