Cowgirl Track and Field Completes a Busy Saturday

The Oklahoma State women's track and field competed at the Sooner Open I in Norman, Okla., on Saturday, and sent Kristen Gillespie to the Meyo Invitational in Notre Dame, Ind., where she ran a top 10 school time in the 800 meters.
Gillespie, running in her first collegiate 800-meter run, finished with a time of 2:09.82, ranking her fourth on the all-time indoor 800-meters list at Oklahoma State.
The Cowgirl highlight at the Sooner Open I came in the 1,000-meter run, where Teran Mixon, Brandi Andrews and Heather Estetter took the top three spots with times of 3:00.52, 3:01.96 and 3:02.88, respectively.
Baiba Blumbaha performed well again for Oklahoma State, earning second in the triple jump with a mark of 12.36 meters, and third in the long jump with a mark of 5.58 meters.
Other notable finishes included Kendra Woodson's second-place finish in the 600-yard run, Tekeisha Lewis's third-place finish in the 200-meter dash and Merritt Dietz's third-place finish in the shot put.
The Cowgirls return to action next weekend for the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa.
