Kirkpatrick Awarded NCAA Ethnic Minority Postgraduate Scholarship

STILLWATER, Okla. - Deleanor Kirkpatrick, a member of the Oklahoma State women's track and field team from 2005-2008, was awarded with an Ethnic Minority and Women's Enhancement Postgraduate Scholarship for Careers in Athletics this week.
Kirkpatrick is one of the 13 awardees for the Ethnic Minority Scholarship; 13 students were also selected for the Women's Scholarship.
Each scholarship recipient receives $6,000 from the NCAA, which can be used for one academic year of graduate study at any NCAA member institution.
Kirkpatrick's scholarship marks the third consecutive year an Oklahoma State minority student-athlete has earned a post graduate scholarship, preceded by McKenzie Price, a former women's tennis player awarded the NCAA Ethnic Minority Postgraduate Scholarship in 2008, and Darnell Smith, a former football player awarded the John McClendon Minority Postgraduate Scholarship in 2007.
