Pettigrew Poised For Leap To Next Level
February 25, 2009 | Cowboy Football
Outgoing Oklahoma State tight end Brandon Pettigrew appears on the verge of becoming the fourth Oklahoma State player in the last 12 years to become a first-round draft pick by National Football League.
Some projections have Pettigrew among the first 10 players selected in the upcoming National Football League draft. The 6-6, 260-pound Pettigrew turned heads with his blocking and receiving skills at the Senior Bowl. He recently joined OSU's Matt Fodge at the NFL Combine.
Fodge was the 2008 Ray Guy Award winner as the nation's top punter while Pettigrew was a finalist for the Mackey Award, presented annually to the nation's top tight end.
OSU also had finalists for the Manning Award (quarterback Zac Robinson) and the Biletnikoff Award (receiver Dez Bryant) in 2008.
