Cowboys Ready For Big 12 Indoor Championships

The Basics
The No. 16 Oklahoma State men's track and field team is set to compete at the Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Championships this Friday and Saturday at Gilliam Indoor Track and Field Stadium at Texas A&M University.
The Cowboys are sending several top performers to the meet, including freshman German Fernandez, the junior world record holder in the one-mile run, two-time junior national cross country champion and an NCAA Indoor Championships automatic qualifier in both the one mile and 3,000 meters.
John Kosgei, who joins Fernandez as an automatic qualifier in the 3,000 meters, also heads to College Station, Texas, to run for the Cowboys.
Friday's action is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., with the last event set for 9 p.m., while Saturday's competition is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. and conclude at 7:30 p.m. with the awards ceremony.

The Cowboys latest competition was the Sooner Open II in Norman, Okla.
Three athletes ran for the Cowboys, including Mitchel Rolfes in the 200- and 400-meter dash, Brad McNiff in the 1,000-meter run and Ryan Little in the one-mile run.
McNiff and Rolfes ran exceptionally well, both posting season best marks in their events, while Little did not finish the mile race.
Cowboys in The Polls
The Cowboys are ranked No. 16 in the nation for the second consecutive week in this week's U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association NCAA Division I rankings.
Oklahoma State is one of seven Big 12 teams ranked in the top 16 and one of eight Big 12 teams included in the top 25 this week.
