Cowboys Fall at A&M, 74-62
February 01, 2009 | Cowboy Basketball
Terrel Harris scored 17 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead OSU. Obi Muonelo and Byron Eaton each scored 13 points apiece, including a perfect 4-for-4 afternoon for Eaton from the floor. The senior point guard also had five assists.
However, Oklahoma State was outrebounded 40-32 by the Aggies and never seemed in synch on defense, committing 26 fouls and sending A&M to the free throw line 32 times. The difference in the game was the Aggies 22 points at the charity stripe compared to just 10 of 13 for OSU.
Oklahoma State trailed by as many as 15 points in the first half as the Cowboys shot just 30 percent from the floor. However, OSU started the second period on an 8-2 run and with 10 minutes remaining in the game, trailed by just two at 50-48 after a traditional three-point play by Harris.
Aggie Bryan Davis led all scorers with 18 points while Josh Carter, who was held scoreless in the first meeting, scored 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting. Donald Sloan added 15 points for A&M while David Loubeau, who did not play in the first game between these two teams, added 10 points off the bench.
Oklahoma State (13-7 overall, 2-4 Big 12) will host Texas Tech on Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 8 p.m. inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
