Cowgirl Duo Earns Academic Honor

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Oklahoma State's Bridget Miller and Annika Niemeier have each been named to the 2009 Scholar All-South Region Second Team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Miller, a midfielder, started all 24 games for the Cowgirls during her senior season in 2009 and recorded two goals and two assists. She carries a 3.7 grade point average in health and human promotions/exercise and health and earlier this year was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team.
A native of Wylie, Texas, Miller is a three-time Academic All-Big 12 Conference First Team honoree and has made the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll six times. She has made the OSU President's Honor Roll (4.0 GPA) twice and is a three-time OSU Dean's Honor Roll (3.59-3.99 GPA) honoree. She was named an OSU Senior of Significance for 2009-10 by the OSU Alumni Association.
A junior midfielder from Willingen-Usseln, Germany, Niemeier led the Cowgirls with 11 goals in 2009, including a Big 12-best seven game winners. A mechanical engineering major with a 3.5 GPA who earlier this year was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Third Team, Niemeier is also a three-time Academic All-Big 12 Conference First Team honoree and has made the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll six times. She has been named to the OSU Dean's Honor Roll three times and the President's Honor Roll once.
Both Miller and Niemeier were named NSCAA Scholar All-South Region honorable mention in 2008.
