NORMAN, Okla. - Oklahoma State's three-game winning streak came to an end Saturday at Memorial Stadium as they dropped a 27-0 decision to Bedlam-rival Oklahoma.
The loss was the seventh in a row for the Cowboys against OU as coach Mike Gundy's squad fell to 9-3 overall and 6-2 in Big 12 Conference play. OSU was shut out for the first time since Oct. 1, 2005 against Colorado, a streak of 46 games.
OSU managed just 109 yards of total offense in the contest, while the Sooners (7-5, 5-3) picked up 367. DeMarco Murray rushed for a pair of touchdowns, and Ryan Broyles had nine catches for 103 yards and returned a punt 87 yards for a touchdown to lead OU.
The Sooners limited OSU to 105 yards of offense in the opening half and forced the Cowboys to punt nine times en route to building a 10-0 lead at intermission.
After a scoreless opening quarter, OU got on the scoreboard with a 24-yard field goal by Patrick O'Hara early in the second period. The Sooners added to their lead on the next possession when Murray capped a scoring drive with a 13-yard run to give the home team a 10-point advantage.
OSU was held to just four yards of offense in the second half and did not pick up a first down after the break.
