Franch Named Primetime Performer

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's AD Franch has been named a CollegeSoccer360.com Primetime Performer of the Week for her play in the first two rounds of the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship last week.
The CS360 Primetime Performers of the Week awards for Week 12 honor those players who came through for their teams and delivered in the clutch during the first week of NCAA Tournament play. A complete list of the week's winners can be found at: http://www.collegesoccer360.com/awards_16.html.
A freshman goalkeeper from Salina, Kan., Franch allowed just one goal and recorded eight saves in 220 minutes in goal in the Cowgirls' NCAA tourney matches against USC and Santa Clara.
Against 21st-ranked USC in the opening round of the tournament, Franch recorded her 11th shutout of the season. After the match ended in a 0-0 draw and went to a penalty kick shootout, she converted a penalty kick and saved two shots by the Women of Troy to propel OSU to a 5-4 win in the shootout and send the Cowgirls to the second round.
Franch was again strong in goal against No. 11 Santa Clara in a second-round matchup as she allowed just one goal (in the match's 12th minute) and had five saves. In the penalty kick shootout against the Broncos, Franch recorded a save, but OSU lost the shootout by a 6-5 count.
OSU had two players, Colleen Dougherty and Annika Niemeier, named CS360 Primetime Performers of the Week in Week 11.
