:: Oklahoma State beat Texas Tech, 24-17.
:: Oklahoma State had trouble finding any room to run the ball in the first half, posting only 36 rushing yards in the first 20 minutes. It was a different story in the second half with the Pokes rushing for 207 yards after halftime.
:: In the 2007 and 2008 meetings against Texas Tech, Oklahoma State yielded 646 passing yards and 516 passing yards. In Saturday's contest, OSU allowed only 307 passing yards to a Red Raider squad that came into the contest ranked second nationally with an average of 400.4.
:: Saturday's game continued the recent trend of the home team winning in the OSU-Texas Tech series. The home team has now won the last eight meetings.
:: The Cowboys dominated time of possession in the third quarter, holding an advantage of 12:08 to 2:52 over the Red Raiders in the third quarter. It was more of the same in the fourth quarter, with OSU holding a 10:00-5:00 advantage over Texas Tech.
:: Oklahoma State CB Perrish Cox picked off a Taylor Potts pass to end Texas Tech's opening drive. One of 12 semifinalists nationally for the Jim Thorpe Award, Cox has intercepted a pass in each of the last two games. He entered Saturday's game as the NCAA leader in passes broken up.
:: Cox's first-quarter interception made it so OSU has held its opponent out of the end zone in each of its last nine games. The only team to score a touchdown on its opening drive against the Cowboys this year was Georgia in the season opener.
:: Cox picked off a second pass when he snared a Steven Sheffield pass at the OSU two-yard line in the second quarter. In doing so, he became the first Cowboy to record multiple interceptions in a game since Jacob Lacey had three picks against Texas in 2007.
:: OSU LB Patrick Lavine picked off a Steven Sheffield pass and took it back for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. It was his eighth career interception and fourth this year and was his second career interception return for a score. Entering Saturday's game, he led all linebackers nationally in interceptions and increased that total.
:: Cowboy quarterback Zac Robinson rushed for a season-high 99 yards.
:: RB Keith Toston entered Saturday's game with 882 rushing yards on the year. He added 76 to bump his season total to 958.
:: The Cowboys opened the second half with a 19-play, 8:08 drive that resulted in a Dan Bailey field goal. It was the Pokes' longest scoring drive in terms of time elapsed since OSU hung a 8:22 drive on Troy last year.
:: Robinson found WR Hubert Anyiam for a 25-yard touchdown pass to cap the Cowboys' first scoring drive. It marked the 13th consecutive game with a touchdown pass for Robinson.
:: The first-quarter Robinson-to-Anyiam touchdown pass capped a 12 play, 74 yard drive that took 6:59 off the clock. It was the Cowboys' second-longest scoring drive of the year in terms of time elapsed.
:: The Cowboy defense held the Red Raiders scoreless on four of their first five offensive drives. Texas Tech entered the game ranked fourth nationally in scoring offense, but didn't get into the endzone until Steven Sheffield connected with Alex Torres with 3:05 left in the second quarter.
:: WR Josh Cooper returned to game action Saturday, catching a pass in the third quarter. He had missed the previous four games.
:: Field position hindered the Oklahoma State offense in the second quarter, as the Cowboys started three consecutive possessions at their own three, their own eight and their own two yard line, respectively. At one point during that span, OSU ran nine consecutive plays inside their own 10-yard line, with all three drives resulting in three- and-outs.
:: The Oklahoma State men's cross country team was honored during a break in the first quarter after winning its fifth consecutive NCAA Midwest Regional championship earlier in the day.
