Cowgirl Duo Earns Accolades

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's Colleen Dougherty and Annika Niemeier have been named CollegeSoccer360.com Primetime Performers of the Week for their play at last week's Big 12 Soccer Championship.
The CS360 Primetime Performers of the Week awards for Week 11 honor those players who came through for their teams and delivered in the clutch with various postseason positioning on the line. A complete list of the week's winners can be found at: http://www.collegesoccer360.com/awards_15.html.
A sophomore defender, Dougherty had a pair of key assists in San Antonio and was also part of a defense that recorded shutouts in two of the Cowgirls' three wins. In the semifinals against Missouri, she had an assist off a free kick in the 77th minute on OSU's game-tying goal. Against Texas A&M in the tourney final, her corner kick assist resulted in the lone goal of the match. The assist against the Aggies was her team-leading fifth of the season.
Niemeier continued her impressive play in the conference tourney and was named to the all-tournament team in San Antonio after recording goals in each of OSU's first two wins. In the semifinal victory over top-seeded Missouri, Niemeier's goal in the 80th minute was the game winner, lifting the Cowgirls to a 3-2 win.
