Cowboys Remain In Second At CordeValle

SAN MARTIN, Calif. - Oklahoma State's men's golf team maintained its tie for second place through 36 holes at the Gifford Collegiate Championship at CordeValle after posting a 353 during its second round at CordeValle Resort.
The Cowboys stand at 15-under 705 and just one shot behind Stanford with 18 holes remaining at the par-72, 7,169-yard layout. OSU finished the day tied with Duke, while the Cardinal moved from fifth to first with a 350 on Tuesday.
OSU's Peter Uihlein surged to the top spot on the individual leaderboard after firing a 65. The sophomore stands at 11-under 133 and two shots clear of Colorado's Justin Bardgett. Uihlein was even par through three holes before posting birdies on seven of his next nine holes. The Orlando, Fla., native made his ninth birdie of the day on his 17th hole to finish at 7-under for the day.
Sophomore Morgan Hoffmann put together a round that included six birdies en route to a 69 to move into a tie for seventh at 5-under 139.
Junior Kevin Tway dipped 10 spots into a tie for 19th at 2-under 142 after carding a 73, while senior Trent Whitekiller's 75 tied him for 28th at 143.
Junior Mark Johnson signed for a 74 and is tied for 70th at 150.
Redshirt freshman Sean Einhaus rounded out the starting lineup with a 73 to finish tied for 76th at 151.
Competing individually, redshirt freshman Drew Page's 73 put him at 147 and tied for 52nd place.
The Cowboys will close out play at the event tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. (PST) and will be paired with Stanford.
