Cowboys Move Into First At Isleworth

WINDERMERE, Fla. - Oklahoma State's men's golf team posted a 1-over 289 on Monday during its second round at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational to move from third to first at Isleworth Country Club.
The Cowboys will enter tomorrow's final round with a four-shot cushion over Florida. OSU has a 36-hole total of 580, followed by Florida at 584 and Stanford at 589.
Individually, Alabama's Bud Cauley followed an opening 69 with a 70 for a 5-under 139 total. He leads OSU's Peter Uihlein by two shots.
The Cowboy sophomore opened with a 68 before posting a 73 on Monday to stand at 3-under 141. Uihlein turned at 1-under and remained on the number until making bogeys at Nos. 16 and 18 to move over par and finish the day in second.
"I need to hit more fairways," Uihlein said. "There are a lot of tough pins. I need to be more aggressive, but not too aggressive."
Junior Kevin Tway climbed from 16th into a tie for fifth at even-par 144 after firing a 2-under 70 during Round Two.
Senior Trent Whitekiller also moved up the leaderboard, rising into a tie for 15th at 147 after carding a 72.
Sophomore Morgan Hoffmann's second consecutive 74 put him at 148 and tied for 18th place, while junior Mark Johnson rounded out the starting five with a 79 for a 159 total and a tie for 62nd.
The Cowboys will close out play at 9:40 a.m. (EST) on Tuesday and will be grouped with Florida and Stanford.
